Financial Support for Adults
Tuition Fees
If you are receiving income-based benefits, or a dependent partner of someone receiving income-based benefits, you will not have to pay tuition, examination or registration fees. In addition, if you are studying towards your first full level 2, or if you are aged under 25 and studying you first full level 3 qualification, you may get the tuition for free. Note you may need to pay for exam or registration fees.

Adult Learning Grant
If you are aged 19 or over, you may be able to claim up to £30 a week if your household income is less than £19,513 (students who are single) or £30,810 (if you are married or live with someone as if you are married) and you are studying on your first full level 2 or level 3 course.

Learner Support Fund
If you are enrolled on a further education course and from a household with a low income you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Learner Support Fund to help pay for essential course costs such as:
- Childcare costs
- Books
- Equipment
- Examination/Registration Fees
Learner Support application forms are available from reception staff on each site.
Free Childcare for Training and Learning for Work
If you are 20 or over and have one or more children, the Free Childcare for Training and Learning for Work scheme could help with the cost of childcare while you learn or train. See www.direct.gov.uk/freechildcareforlearning for further details
