TUITION FEES – students aged 19 and over at the start of their studies will be liable to pay for tuition fees unless eligible for a 100% tuition fee discount.*
100% fee discount is available to the following:
- Students in receipt of Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group
- Students studying on a learning programme denoted as Adult Skills for Life and/or Functional Skills in literacy and numeracy, this does not include Skills for Life ESOL
- Students who have yet to achieve a Level 2 qualification and studying on a denoted Entry Level/Level 1 programme with a view to progress towards a level 2 programme
- Students studying for their first full Level 2 qualification**
- Students aged between 19 and 24 at the start of their course studying for their first full Level 3 qualification**
- Students studying towards their first full Level 3 qualification without having a Level 2 qualification**
*Those courses denoted as Full Cost do not attract fee discount and the student will be liable for the full tuition fee.
**please note you are advised to check with your enrolling tutor whether your course qualifies for a full Level 2 or 3 discount, as not all courses have full Level 2 or 3 status.
AWARDING BODY FEES – those students in receipt of JSA/ESA(WRAG) will not be required to pay awarding body fees. For all other students entitled to a fee discount they will be required to pay a contribution towards the awarding body fee up to a maximum of £50 per course.
PAYMENT METHODS – As a general rule it is possible to pay tuition fees by instalments where the fee is over £100.
LEARNER SUPPORT FUND - If you are enrolled on a further education course and from a household with a low income you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Learner Support Fund to help pay for essential course costs such as:
- Childcare costs
- Books
- Equipment
- Examination/Registration Fees
- Travel costs
