Thinking of coming to College?

Are you an adult looking to return to study?

Do you need help in choosing the right course for you?

If you haven’t decided yet, why not come along for an informal chat with one of our Guidance Advisers.

We can help

Our aims are to ensure that:

  • You are guided onto the programme of study which is right for you.
  • You complete your programme of study and successfully achieve your qualification.
  • You are satisfied with your experience of College and enjoy your time here.

We can help you to decide on the most appropriate programme for you to take based on your ideas for your future. We can also give you information on the services available at College. If you are uncertain about which career direction to choose, we can offer one to one guidance and provide access to careers software. We can also refer you to subject specialists in College if you need further advice on particular programmes.

Already at College?

Our qualified and experienced Guidance Advisers are based in Student Services at the Town Centre Campus. We are here to provide information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment. We also provide this service at the Technology Campus on a part time basis.

We help by:

Providing a high quality careers education, information and guidance service for all students at St Helens College. We provide the following support:

  • We can provide you with information on training and employment opportunities.
  • We can help you to plan your career and prepare an effective CV.
  • We can provide support with choosing and applying for higher education or completing job applications. This can be offered on a group or individual basis.
  • We can help you decide what to do when you have finished your course by considering your interests and abilities.
  • You can continue to get support from us for a further twelve months after completing your time at college.

A well-stocked careers resource base

In the Options Centre, our Resources Co-ordinator maintains an extensive range of careers related materials including handouts, reference books and prospectuses and is available to help you find the information you need. We also have a suite of computers complete with the latest careers software to help you with your research.

Thursday 8.40am – 5 pm

Friday 8.40am – 4.00pm
