HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIP
You can start this course anytime throughout the academic year.
This programme is for people aged 16+ who wish to develop their knowledge and skills relevant to their work role within the Health & Social Care Sector. Learners will be able to chose a pathway relevant to their sector area: Generic; Learning disabilities or Dementia.
Who is the Programme for?
This programme is for people who are employed within the Health & Social Care sector and undertake activites/tasks at the relevant level to achieve the award. It is suitable for learners in roles such as senior care assistant/senior support workers/ senior key workers.
Entry to the Programme
There are no formal entry requirements, but an Initial Assessment of literacy and Numeracy will be undertaken. Learners will have to working at the correct level to achieve this award.
When will I start the Programme?
Enrolment onto the programme in on a Roll on- Roll off basis.

What will I study?
The Apprentice programme consist of a knowledge element - Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 3 and Employee Rights and Responsibilities. A competence element - Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults). Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2.
How is it assessed?
Attendance at workshops in the workplace or college is required. The knowledge element is assessed by assignments and the competence element by observation of practice and other assessment methods. In order to complete the Functional Skills element an end test will be required.
There are Continuing Professional Development opportunities through completing additional units and other career opportunities within Health & Social Care.
