Dr Jette BurfordThe Chief Executive of St Helens College has praised staff at the College, after ranking the best in Merseyside in a national league table featuring 183 colleges.

The table, compiled using official Department for Education (DfE) measures performance across four categories – learner satisfaction, employer satisfaction, 16-18 positive progression and adults into employment.

St Helens College achieved an impressive 89% for positive 16-18 progression, smashing the national average of 84%, meaning that students’ successfully progress into employment, on to university or on to further training following their time at College.

Dr Jette Burford, CEO at St Helens College, said: “As one of the largest colleges in Merseyside, we are extremely proud to be leading the way across the region. These results are a reflection of the hard work we put into preparing our students for their next steps to achieve their career aspirations.”

She added: “It is reassuring to see that the overwhelming majority of our students would recommend us to friends and family. We care deeply about our learners and ensuring that they feel supported and inspired to achieve their aspirations and ambitions during their time with us.”

This recent achievement only adds to St Helens College’s list of accomplishments such as their A level results topping the national average with 100% pass rate and being ranked the best College in the Liverpool City Region for the outstanding pass rate that students achieve in their vocational qualifications.
