The HND Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is designed for those who have already completed a HNC and are looking to obtain a higher level qualification. Provides students with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to work as a professional engineer, the HND brings together a range of engineering elements to meet the needs of today's demanding engineering sector. Successful completion of the HND provides the opportunity for students to progress onto university to top-up their qualification to a full honours degree.

Course in-depth

What will I study?

All students on the HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering are required to study the following units:

  • Management of Projects
  • Further Electrical Power
  • Quality Assurance and Management
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Plant and Process Control
  • Advanced Maths

How will I study?

Students are required to attend over a one-year period for one extended day per week, typically 9.00am to 8.00pm. The course will be delivered at the newly refurbished STEM Centre, Technology Campus, a purpose built campus that has recently received significant investment.

How will I be assessed?

All units on the HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering are assessed by a combination of assignments including phase tests, classwork, case studies and formal end of session written examinations.
