Already at College?

If you are currently studying at  St Helens College  on a Foundation Degree, Degree, HND or HNC programme, the Options Centre offers a number of key services to help you achieve your goals. This service is also available to students who have completed higher education courses at the College within the last year.

Qualified and experienced staff can help you research and prepare for future career opportunities.  We offer the following services:

  • One to one guidance interviews
  • A well stocked careers resource base maintained by our Resources Co-ordinator including handouts, reference books, prospectuses and free access to our computer suite  and software programmes.
  • The opportunity to email your query to an adviser via Moodle (VLE)
  • CV advice and production.
  • Help with applications to further education, training or postgraduate study.
  • Help with job search including support with job applications and interviews.
  • Information on full time and part time job opportunities.
  • A higher education section on Moodle  (VLE) with information and links to useful websites for job vacancies, postgraduate or further study and labour market information.

Accessing these services at an early stage of your course is an excellent way to begin planning for your future. We can help you to explore ways of developing your employability skills -  essential in today’s competitive jobs market.
