The Libraries provide a range of facilities, services and resources to support students in their learning. Over 50,000 books and other resources are available to provide information for projects, assignments, further study or simply for pleasure. We have a growing range of online resources including specialist databases and eBooks. Our resources are specially chosen to support the wide variety of courses offered by the College and we also offer fiction and DVD movie collections to enrich your learning whilst at St Helens College. Each Library provides open access IT facilities, with internet access, printers and scanners.
Library staff are available to help students make best use of the resources and services, offering specialist guidance and support in locating and using resources. A “floor-walking” service during peak times allows staff to be easily available to students. Online induction is available to all students through the VLE or Library staff can provide tailored induction sessions on using library services and subject-related sessions on our online & printed resources. These are arranged in partnership with course tutors and can be designed to meet the specific information needs of the group.
