Level 4 AAT Diploma in Professional Accounting

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

AAT is the world's leading professional membership body for accounting technicians, with over 100,000 members worldwide.

The level 4 AAT Diploma in Professional Accounting is designed for those who are already employed in the accounting industry and are looking to expand their financial and management skills.

During this qualification, you will gain complex skills in drafting financial statements for limited companies, management accounting tasks and strategies, and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course has start dates in January and September and will take 18 months to complete.

This course will take place at our Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

What will I study?

You will study the following mandatory units:

  • Applied Management Accounting
  • Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements
  • Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

You will choose from the following optional units:

  • Business Tax
  • Personal Tax
  • Audit and Assurance
  • Cash and Financial Management
  • Credit and Debt Management

How is it assessed?

This course will be assessed through computer-based assessments for each unit.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You must have successfully completed the Level 3 AAT Diploma in Accounting.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £2,573.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees. An Advanced Learner Loan enables you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility is not dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments do not start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,000 per year. AAT membership fees are payable to the awarding body, and are not included in the course costs.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you will become a qualified Accounting Technician and can go on to secure employment at managerial or supervisory level.

This qualification will also lead to exemptions with ACCA and CIMA and the non-graduate route to chartered accountancy.
