Games designer hosts masterclassJames Wallis, Director of successful consultancy, Spaaace, recently hosted an exciting masterclass with level 3 Games, Animation and VFX students.

James, who has been designing, publishing and writing about games since the age of 14, has an extensive list of experience and has worked on some of the industry's biggest digital titles such as Waking the Dead and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.

During the masterclass, James helped students to produce a working multiplayer game concept within a very short time frame, from the initial sketch and design phase, through to constructive feedback and refinements. At the end of the masterclass, students had impressively created a playable and well-structured game product.

St Helens College's Course Leader, Rob, said, "This industry masterclass, supported by the NextGen Skills Academy, has been invaluable in re-enforcing the core principles of game design."

He added, "Working with an industry professional such as this, is crucial to students developing the skills and experience needed to meet the requirements of the industry and succeed."
