Nail Technology alumna, Rhea, has set sail for success after she secured a unique employment opportunity with luxury spa cruise liner, Steiner, and is now experiencing an international adventure overseas, working as a Nail Technician.
Since beginning her exciting new journey, Rhea has already visited a number of incredible destinations, including the Mediterranean coast, the Caribbean islands and Mexico.
Her drive for a career in beauty first began after she attended one of St Helens College’s Open Events, where she had the opportunity to tour our commercial salon, The Lounge, and was impressed by the opportunity to learn in such an interactive and hands-on environment, which reflects working life in the beauty industry.
Rhea joined the level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy at St Helens College, before progressing on to the level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology, whilst balancing work experience and a part-time job at a local salon.
Having always dreamt of something bigger, Rhea looked to her tutors for career inspiration, and with their valued industry connections and support, she was introduced to Steiner, where the idea of working on-board an international cruise ship soon became a reality.
Rhea commented, “The support I received from my tutors at College was second to none. They helped to prepare me for the application and interview process at Steiner, which has enabled me to get to where I am today. My confidence has grown massively since working in the College’s commercial salon and I strongly believe that this has provided a real advantage when applying for my current role.”
She added, “I am loving every minute of my career on-board Steiner. It is hard work but the rewards certainly outweigh it all. I have already visited so many amazing destinations, and I’ve loved putting the skills and experience I gained at College into action when providing services to my clients.”
