Our level 3 Games, Animation and VFX Skills students had the exclusive opportunity to meet former Director of Marketing at EA Chillingo, Stephen Hey, in preparation for the release of their synoptic games projects.
Stephen, who has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge, is now a Freelance Consultant, working with games studios across the UK. He shared his accredited expertise with the students by helping them to develop and build their own projects, including demographic profiles for players. He also advised students on how to identify the uniqueness of their own games, including how to strengthen their portfolios in preparation for industry placements and apprenticeship opportunities.
Games, Animation and VFX Skills Tutor, Rob Hinde, commented, “Our level 3 students are already meeting and working with key people from across the Northwest's games industry. Making connections and being able to ask questions directly to people like Stephen Hey and Adam Barker, both former producers from EA, during their ongoing synoptic project, will help them to stand out in such a competitive industry.”
