WorkWorld at Knowsley Community College is working in partnership with Livv Housing Group to recruit and train 30 people across a variety of roles as part of the Government's £2 billion Kickstart Scheme flagship initiative.

The 6-month paid placements provide young people aged 18-24, who are currently in receipt of Universal Credit and a Livv Housing tenant or resident, an opportunity to gain valuable work experience, including access to a range of fantastic benefits.

WorkWorld at Knowsley Community College provide adult community learning to individuals who are looking to boost their confidence, and gain the skills, knowledge and qualifications to progress into employment and/or on to further training and learning.

Susan Kelly, WorkWorld Manager, said: "We are delighted to be working with Livv Housing Group, and hope that for many young people, this will be the first step towards a rewarding career."

She added, "We will be offering applicants a two-week educational programme to prepare them for their interviews, whilst developing their personal, social and employability skills, which we hope will thoroughly prepare them for their future."

The Kickstart Scheme was introduced last year as part of the Chancellor's economic recovery package in response to COVID-19. Over 120,000 jobs have been created nationwide so far.

Livv Housing Group is recruiting throughout 2021, with the next intakes taking place in July and December.
