Students gain invaluable experience working at Cruise Liverpool - Picture 1

Students from Travel and Tourism, Aviation and Public Services have gained invaluable experience working with GAC Services at Cruise Liverpool over the summer break.

They took on roles including passenger check in, document validation, boarding and arrivals, baggage reclaim, guest assistance and gangway directions.

The students handled guests for Disney Cruise Line, MSC and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines for their summer staycation programmes sailing from Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

Daniel Murphy, Aviation and Tourism Tutor, said: “The experience with GAC Services has provided the students with excellent grounding in customer service, teamwork, and flexibility which are transferrable into the Aviation, Travel and Tourism industries plus many others.

“The students were praised for their professionalism and contribution to making sure the staycation season was a success. Some students have been asked to continue working for the remainder of the year with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines on their cruises to France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and to the Northern Lights.”
