A group of Games, Animation and VFX Skills students have created a short VFX trailer 'Into the Void' as part of their final year project work.

The original brief, set by Framestore (London), asked students to create an original superhero character concept and bring them to life in a short sequence.

By using a combination of motion capture techniques, including Maya and innovative Unreal Engine 5 cinematics, the team has perfected their idea and will now pitch the concept to Framestore as part of the end-of-year London showcase.

Luke Shipley, team leader and concept artist, said: “It is very exciting to be given the chance to present our character's story to the professionals at Framestore in person. I’m looking forward to hearing their feedback and hopefully receiving some tips on how we can take the idea to the next level.”

Next Gen course leader, Rob Hinde said: “It has been a long process, with many twists and turns, but it is satisfying to see the near-finished project progress from rough sketches to a final film sequence. I trust the students will continue to impress when we visit Framestore in person in a few weeks!”
