Picture of our Public and Uniformed students

Students from Public and Uniform Services at our St Helens College and Knowsley Community College campuses recently participated in a three-day Total Action programme with Vibe.

The initiative, which is part of their NCS (National Citizen Service), was designed to test their mental and physical capabilities, pushing them out of their comfort zones and encouraging collaborative learning.

Over the course of the programme, the students were divided into different teams, each focusing on developing a range of skills. The first day focused on interpersonal and motivational skills, teamwork, and problem-solving. Day two saw students tackling creative thinking, adaptability, stress management, responsibility, and assertiveness. The final day was dedicated to confidence building, listening, and resilience, culminating in a 'Final Challenge'.

The 'Final Challenge' was a series of mini challenges that required students to draw on all they had learned. They had one hour to prepare and another hour to complete the tasks. Success depended on identifying the team members with the most relevant skills for each challenge and strategizing the order of task completion. If they failed at any point, the teams had to start all over again.

The students exhibited impressive teamwork throughout the three-day programme, gaining invaluable life experiences. Congratulations to all participants on their successful completion.
