Picture of Paul AskewWorld renowned chef, Paul Askew will grace the kitchens of St Helens College's fully operational, training restaurant, Colours for an exclusive Guest Chef Dinner event on Thursday 21st April.

This Guest Chef Dinner is the third to be held this year, after the College’s kitchens has witnessed a carousel of top chefs in recent months including Steven Doherty, James Holden and Michael Bullard. These dinners have gone from strength to strength with tickets selling out in a matter of a few days and this latest event is tipped to be no exception.

Chef Paul Askew is a Northwest Food Champion and is widely recognised as one of the region’s best chefs. A fellow of the Royal Academy of the Culinary Art, Paul recently opened his fine dining haven, The Art School Restaurant in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian quarter in September 2014.

The awards and plaudits have followed a succession of delighted customers with The Good Food Guide, AA rosettes, his peers and industry recognition. Paul remains on track to deliver the first Michelin starred restaurant on Liverpool.

Paul combines his passion for food with an unequalled commitment to talent development and inspiring the next generation of culinary talent.

This event is set to be extra special with front of house being headed up by Kay Johnson. Kay is currently Group Hospitality and Client Experience Manager. Kay has a wealth of experience in front of house management and hospitality, having worked with chefs such as Paul Heathcote, Heston Blumenthal, Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing and other locally recognised Chefs including Nigel Howarth, Andrew Nutter, Simon Rimmer and Brian Turner through industry, education and currently through her work with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts of which, she is proud to be an academician and part of the northern board.

Diners will also be treated to a complimentary Laurent Perrier Champagne drinks reception to accompany a selection of canapés being presented by Paul. A representative from Laurent Perrier Champagne will also be delivering a short presentation giving an insight into this light, elegant champagne.

Working alongside such a top chef will enhance the training and learning of our students and will also look great on their CV.”

Tickets are priced at £30 per person for 5 courses and are only available to purchase online at However, people wishing to attend should be quick to avoid disappointment as tickets will sell quickly.
