This short, leisure course is designed for anyone wishing to try their hand at electrical installation and will provide participants with an introduction to this craft.

You will have the chance to learn from professionals, who have a wealth of experience from working in the industry.

Start Date and Duration

The course will start on Tuesday 4th March 2025 and will take three weeks to complete. You will attend college on Tuesday evening, from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.

The course takes place at our STEM Centre, Technology Campus, St Helens WA9 1TT.

Introduction to conduit
Types of circuits
Sockets and switches
Maintaining basic electrical items in the home

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment. The course aims to increase your own knowledge of the subject matter.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment and enthusiasm. As with all our introduction courses the main emphasis is to come and enjoy the workshops.

Course Cost

You may be eligible for funding if you have not recently participated in a similar programme, or received any other recent government funded training.

There are a number of fee options for this course including:

If you are unemployed – FREE
If you are employed – £30
If you are not eligible for funding – £100
