Level 2 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD)

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

This course is suitable for those who wish to further develop their abilities in the field of Computer Aided Design (CAD).

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course starts in February and will take 18 weeks to complete. You will attend College for one evening per week on a Monday, from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.

The course takes place at St Helens College, STEM Centre Campus, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

What will I study?

You will gain basic experience in the use of Auto Cad systems for the purpose of design and draughting.

Depending on your interests, the following areas can be covered:

  • 2D Computer aided design
  • 2D Computer aided part programming
  • 2D Manual part programming
  • 2D CNC machining
  • Reinstate the work area(s)
  • 2D CAD online test

How is it assessed?

You will be assessed through a combination of assignments and an externally set examination.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

No formal qualifications are necessary for this course.
