Money Matters - Financial Literacy

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

As we find ourselves in the cost-of-living crisis, it is important that you possess financial literacy skills to enable you to understand and make use of a variety of financial skills.

This course will cover some of the basics of financial literacy and its practical application in everyday life such as household budgeting, interest rates, budgeting, handling debt and credit, and saving.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

This course has various dates throughout the year and takes 4 weeks to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP

How is it assessed?

There is no assessment.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

You don't need any formal qualifications to start this course.

What are the course fees?

This course is free to study providing you do not hold a grade 4 or above at GCSE Maths level.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

After completing this course, you could progress on to GCSE Maths or Functional Skills Maths to gain a recognised qualification whilst developing your skills and knowledge.
