Level 7 CMI Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership
This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

The CMI level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management (Postgraduate) is suitable for those who are currently practising senior level managers and wish to gain a formal qualification in order to reinforce your existing knowledge, build on your current work experience and prepare you for future advancements.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course has various start dates throughout the year and will take two years to complete. It is delivered on a Monday evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus.
Dependent upon demand, this course can be delivered to employees directly within the workplace. This is facilitated with study that is more intensive over a shorter period.
What will I study?
Taught by industry professionals you will explore the key concepts and elements of strategic leadership and management.
The following nine modules will be covered:
- Personal development as a strategic manager and leader
- Developing performance management strategies
- Financial Management
- Strategic information management
- Conducting a strategic management report
- Reviewing organisational strategy plans and performance
- Strategic leadership
- Strategic planning
- Strategic HR Planning
You will study alongside like-minded people in classes delivered by friendly supportive tutors.
How is it assessed?
You will complete a written assignment at the end of each module studied. No examinations are required.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
Ideally, you should have achieved the CMI Level 5 Extended Diploma in Leadership and Management, or an equivalent qualification. However, your previous qualifications and work experience will be considered for entry on to the course.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £2,600. This includes the registration fee for CMI membership.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
This qualification will enable you to progress in your career as a strategic manager. Membership of the Chartered Management Institute will be offered to you upon completion of your studies. You can also apply for Chartered Manager status upon successful completion.
