This one-year course is a great first step towards a career as anElectrician. Learning basic skills; both practical and theory based, youwill learn the scientific principles of electricity. Youwill explore everything fromconduit, trunking and installationmethods to electrical components and fittingswhile gaining experience in the industry. What will I need? You should haveGCSEs at grade 3 or above in English andmaths. You will be supported to develop your English andmaths skills alongside your course. Progression You could progress on to the level 2 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation. Level 1 Diploma Plumbing Studies What will I study? This one-year course is a great introduction to plumbing. You will master the art of pipe bending and soldering techniques while gaining practical experience of installing bathrooms and heating systems. You will explore the scientific principles of plumbing including the principles of hot water and coldwater, heating and sanitation systems. There is also an opportunity to gain experience in the industry. What will I need? You should haveGCSEs at grade 3 or above in English andmaths. You will be supported to develop your English andmaths skills alongside your course. Progression You could progress on to the level 2Technical Certificate inPlumbing. Level 1 Certificate Preparation for Construction Industries What will I study? Explore all areas of the construction industry from electrical installation and joinery to painting and decorating and plumbing. You will learnmodern industry standards and practices to help prepare you for progression to higher level study. What will I need? You should haveGCSEs at grade 2 or above in English andmaths. You will be supported to develop your English andmaths skills alongside your course. Progression You could progress on to the level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation, Plumbing Studies, or Bricklaying. Level 1 Diploma Bricklaying What will I study? This one-year course is a great introduction to bricklaying. Based in our workshops, youwill learn the fundamental aspects of bricklaying including how to construct block, brick and cavitywalling. Youwill also have the opportunity to develop the hand skills needed to use a variety of tools and gain valuable work experience in the industry. What will I need? You should haveGCSEs at grade 3 or above in English andmaths. You will be supported to develop your English andmaths skills alongside your course. Progression You could progress on to the level 2 Technical Certificate in Bricklaying at our St Helens Campus or an apprenticeship.
