During this two-year course, youwill gain practical skills and an understanding of the sport and physical activity sector. Awork placement within a sports settingwill boost your experience, career prospects and university application. Youwill learn everything there is to knowabout sports development, athlete lifestyles, fitness training and sportsmassage. What will I need? You should have four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and/or maths. Progression You could accrue up to 168UCASTariffPoints to take you to university. Youmay choose to progress on to FdSc Exercise, Health and Fitness at University Centre St Helens. SPORT Level 2Certificate Sport What will I study? Throughout this one-year course, you will gain an insight into the sport and fitness industry and develop essential skills such as communication, leadership, self-management and teamwork. You will experience a variety of sports to enhance your fitness such as football, netball, tennis, badminton and athletics. There will also be an opportunity towork with local primary schools to create fun and engaging sport sessions. What will I need? You should have four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths. Progression You could progress on to the level 3ExtendedDiploma inSport andPhysical Activity. Level 1 Certificate Sport What will I study? This one-year course introduces you to the world of sport and the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the sports industry. You will develop key leadership and teamwork skills whilst learning about fitness testing and fitness programmes. You will also understand how to develop your research skills while action planning your development and knowledge. What will I need? You should have two or moreGCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and/or maths. Progression You could progress on to the level 2 Certificate inSport.
