A massive congratulations to our A Level student, Aidan, who achieved an outstanding A*AA in History, English Language and Sociology and is now progressing on to study English Language with The Open University.

Aspiring English Teacher Aidan said: “I would love to be able to pass on my knowledge and share my passion for English, it has only developed further during my time at St Helens College. The level of support and standard of teaching has been amazing. Picking up my results today, I am shocked, amazed and excited for the future.”

A level student, Casey, is proud to have achieved AAB in Law, Religious Studies and History and has secured her place at the University of Liverpool to study Law.

Casey said: “I have loved studying at St Helens College, I have had a lot of fun and made some lifelong friends. Studying here has given me so many opportunities and has helped me achieve the grades needed to study Law and work towards my end goal, a career in the legal sector.”

A levels in Politics, English Language and Psychology

A level student, Joshua, studied Politics, English Language and Psychology, and has achieved ABC in his results. He is delighted to have secured a place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study Law.

Joshua said: “I have felt anxious in the lead up to results day. It has been a challenging year due to COVID restrictions, but my tutors have supported me, and I have worked really hard. Opening my results this morning, it has all been worth it.”

Tom joined us from Cowley International College to study Mechanical Engineering and has just achieved a double Merit. He is hoping to go on to study HNC in Engineering at University Centre St Helens.

Art and Design

A huge congratulations to our Art and Design student, Megan, who achieved D*D*D in her results! Megan is continuing her studies with us on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and is hoping to one day fulfil her dream of becoming a Freelance Pattern Artist.

Megan attended College with proud mum Pam, who said: "Megan has worked so hard over the past two years, and to do it all with a chronic pain condition is just amazing. I am extremely proud of her for all she has achieved, she deserves to be picking up these results today!”

Megan said: "I am gobsmacked at my results, I am so proud of myself. This course isn't just about being good at drawing or painting, it is so much more. You have the opportunity to explore so many different mediums and develop your skills in something you love. I am so excited to see what the future holds!"

Animal Management

Gabrielle is celebrating achieving an amazing MMM in her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management!

She said: “I am so proud of what I have achieved, particularly continuing my learning during lockdown. The tutors were fantastic and gave us constant support and it was great to be able to learn hands on in the animal units. I have been accepted to Liverpool John Moores University to study Zoology. I can’t wait to continue developing my skills and fulfil my dreams of becoming a Zoologist.”

Congratulations to our Computing and IT student, Jack, who has just achieved D*DD in his BTEC results and secured his place at Lancaster University to study History and Philosophy.

Jack wants to take his studies as far as possible, to build up his knowledge and one day become a teacher to share his love of history with other young people.

Well done to our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design student, Toby, who has achieved D*DD.

When collecting his results, Toby said: “My time at college has been amazing. The tutors are great and were so supportive. I have made lifelong friends and I'm feeling excited and optimistic about my future.”

Toby is staying on at St Helens College to study the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design.

Our first year Level 3 Sports and Physical Activity students Lauren, Megan and Georgia are delighted having all just received D* in their end of year results.

They have thoroughly enjoyed their time on the course so far and are looking forward to progressing on to their second year in September.

Music Technology

Aspiring Music Teacher, Phillip, has successfully secured a place to study Popular Music at the University of Liverpool after achieving D*DD in his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology.

He said: “I have loved my time at the College. The tutors are great and really supportive. I would recommend it to anybody looking to start a career in the industry.”

Performing Arts

Aspiring Drama Therapist, Tanya, is delighted having just achieved a DS in her Level 3 UAL Performing Arts.

During her time on the course throughout lockdown, Tanya developed a serious physical illness, which impacted her studies and resulted in her needing additional support to help her throughout the remainder of her course. Although it was frustrating not being able to complete the same tasks as her peers, Tanya did not let that stop her from achieving top grades!

She said: “It was hard at first, but I remained positive and quickly adapted my way of working, I refused to let it stop my creativity. I am so glad I continued to push through and work hard, opening my results today made it all worthwhile.”

Tanya will be continuing on to University Centre St Helens to study on the FdA Theatre and Performance. In the future, she hopes to inspire other young people with disabilities through drama.

Performing Arts

Performing Arts student, Nicole, picked up fantastic results this morning, achieving a DS grade for her course which is equivalent to D*D*D* at BTEC!

Nicole is now progressing on to University Centre St Helens to study on the FdA Theatre and Performance and hopes to fulfil her goal of becoming a Drama Teacher.

Nicole said: “I have loved my time on the course and made the best memories. We got to go on some amazing trips, including London where we got to see Mamma Mia in the West End! I am really proud of my results and excited for what is to come.”

Well done, Nicole, you have done amazing!
