Animal sanctuary, Lucky Hen Rescue recently rescued 11 chickens from a local farm, who are unfortunately unable to lay eggs. They have since settled into their new home at St Helens College in the outdoor animal unit.

The lucky chickens are special and a little unusual as they have both male and female characteristics. The term for this is 'gynandromorph'.
