St Helens College were proud to host Springboard's FutureChef competition's local final!

Eight students aged 14-15 from regional schools were given an hour to create their signature dish using our state of the art professional kitchen facilities, which was judged by a panel of industry professionals. The young culinary masters demonstrated their vast knowledge of a range of techniques, using a wide variety of ingredients to prepare a selection of exciting dishes.

The competition was fierce; the judges complimented the competitors' talent, commenting that their skill level is far beyond their years. After deliberation from the panel, a winner was crowned in Charlotte from Formby High School with her seabass dish served with crushed jersey royal potatoes and a poached egg.

A big well done to everybody who took part, we have no doubt you all have very bright futures ahead of you! We'd now like to wish Charlotte the best of luck as she now progresses to compete at the regional finals in Manchester, with hopes of reaching the grand final at Westminster College.

Thank you to Springboard for bringing their fantastic competition to the College, as well as Formby High School, Calderstones School, Hugh Baird 14-16 Academy, Wirral Grammar School for Girls and Prenton High School for entering contestants.
