We enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon with our talented Music Performance and Music Production students, who took to the stage for their highly anticipated end of year show, SummerFest, showcasing their exception musical prowess.
Joined by proud family, friends and tutors in our theatre, five of our talented student bands, The Jems, Deth Avenue, The Band-Its, Tier, and Placeholder, put on outstanding show, showing off their music abilities as they performed renditions of well-known artists including Arctic Monkeys and Nirvana, along with a collection of their own music.
The show was brimming with energy, with an atmosphere akin to that of a live gig, as the audience enjoyed an afternoon of dancing and singing.
In preparation for their exhilarating event, the students planned and prepared every aspect of the show, from stage lighting, sound mixing and filming, with our music production students working hard behind the scenes as the live sound crew.
The music production students were responsible for the band’s audio quality during the show, providing the audience with an immersive sonic experience.
Music tutor, Ant, explained “The skills the students demonstrated are a testament to the comprehensive education they receive as part of the music course here at St Helens College, not only nurturing talented performers but also building skilled professionals who make these events possible.”
He continued “As tutors we are immensely proud of everything the students have accomplished, not only through their learning but their growth in confidence. SummerFest serves as a culmination of their hard work and dedication, to provide an afternoon of music, joy, and celebration.”
