Level 1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness (Adult Course)

This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.

Whether you are a private enthusiast or currently working in the motor vehicle industry, this short course is the perfect choice.

The course is designed to give you the awareness you need to work safely around electric and hybrid vehicles, or the basics you need to be aware of if you are thinking of purchasing a hybrid or fully electric vehicle. It is also ideal for managers and sales people working in dealerships.

When will I start the course and how long will it take?

The course starts in September and will take 3 weeks to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, STEM Centre Campus, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

What will I study?

Topics covered include:

  • The types of electric/hybrid vehicles available
  • Hazards associated with motor vehicle high energy electrical systems
  • Working safely around electric/hybrid vehicles including charging

How is it assessed?

The course is assessed through completion of a portfolio.

Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements.

What are the course fees?

The total cost of this course is £199.

What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to progress on to the Level 2 Routine Maintenance for an Electric or Hybrid Vehicle.
