Staff and students put on their best costumes and dressed up as characters from a number of books, comics andmanga for World Book Day. Students also took part in book-related activities, including a Mystery Reader Trail, an Author Quiz, Stories on Screen and a CreativeWriting Club. 21 We welcomed Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, to officially unveil our new Centre for Precision Engineering at the STEMCentre, Technology Campus. The £1m investment, partially funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, supported the installation of brand-new industry standardmachinery and equipment such asWi-Fi enabled Haas CNCMachines, Axis Lathes, Milling Machines and Haas Simulators, to provide students and apprentices with the opportunity to develop their skills and learn all aspects of modern precision engineering including design, testing, manufacturing and operations.
