Low Temperature Hot Water Heating Systems
This course is suitable for students aged 19 and over.
This qualification is aimed at practicing plumbers and heating engineers, who already have an understanding of the fundamental requirements of central heating systems and who wish to design and install energy efficient low temperature hot water heating systems that may use heat pumps as the heat source.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
The course has various start dates throughout the year and will take two days to complete.
The course takes place at St Helens College's Green Energy Skills Centre, St Helens, WA9 1AR.
What will I study?
Topics covered include:
- How to design low temperature heating systems including heat loss calculations
- How to size pipework, emitters, and circulators
- How to select and install the most efficient heating controls
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
Trainees will need to have some knowledge of plumbing and the water industry.
What are the course fees?
