This inspiring cookery course is intended to develop your culinary flair and knowledge of Italian food.

You will use a variety of local products, spices and herbs to prepare and cook a selection of authentic Italian dishes. You will develop an understanding of how to prepare and cook foods using a variety of techniques in creating, balance, texture and taste.

From pizza to pasta and everything in between, if you love Italian food this course is for you. It is also the perfect gift for those who love Italian food!

This course has various start dates depending on your chosen campus and will take four weeks to complete.

Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

  • Tuesday 3rd November 2026 | 6.00pm – 9.00pm
  • Thursday 18th March 2027 | 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Main Campus, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 3SD.

  • Tuesday 12th January 2027 | 6.00pm – 9.00pm
  • Thursday 14th January 2027 | 6.00pm – 9.00pm

This course will allow you to explore various ingredients and develop basic Italian cookery skills while encouraging you to develop your own creative culinary ideas. You may create dishes such as:

  • Fresh homemade pasta
  • Lasagne
  • Gnocchi

There is no formal assessment.

You will be given feedback based on your progress with suggestions and guidance for areas for improvement.

As with all our leisure courses the main emphasis is to come and enjoy.

There are no formal entry requirements, as with all of our leisure cookery courses, the main emphasis is to come along and enjoy. The course is suitable for all levels of ability.

You will need to wear strong, flat sensible shoes and bring along an apron and a tea towel.

Please bring along a container to take what you have made home with you.

The total cost of this course is £180. This is a full cost course meaning that there are no fee discounts available.

The course price is inclusive of all the ingredients that you will need for each session.

You may wish to progress onto an accredited qualification in this subject, which will allow you to practice your skills in the industry.
