You will gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of species, from reptiles and birds, to exotic mammals such as our Japanese raccoon dog, Lupin!
This will provide you with the confidence, knowledge and experience needed to secure employment within the growing sector.
In order to gain an understanding of the industry, you will also undertake a work placement, enhancing your CV and employability prospects.
The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

Achieving a good standard of English and maths is a key requirement for many jobs, as well as for courses you may wish to progress on to. If you achieve below a grade 4 in your English and maths GCSEs at school, you will study it alongside your course when you join us.
This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to gain employment within the industry. You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills, preparing you for university or a higher level role in the industry, by progressing on to a level 3.
Former students who have completed this course have gone on to secure jobs in wildlife establishments, kennels, catteries, animal welfare organisations, charities and equine centres.
