Around 1.5 million people in the UK have a learning disability. A good knowledge of legislation and the healthcare system, as well as an understanding of signs and symptoms of various conditions, is essential for anyone working with individuals with learning disabilities.
This course explores the principles of important topics such as safeguarding and positive risk-taking when working with individuals with learning disabilities and will also help learners gain awareness of the autistic spectrum.
This qualification is designed for learners with an interest in, or who are already working with, people with learning disabilities in a variety of roles.
As the course is completed online, the use of a computer or laptop is recommended, however all student have access to our campus libraries including our quiet study spaces and computer suites!
