Autism is a spectrum condition that affects how a person communicates with others and how they interpret the world around them. There are around 700,000 people in the UK with autism, more than 1 in every 100. Having a clear understanding of the misconceptions, diagnoses and support surrounding autism are just some of the essential skills needed when working with individuals with autism.
During this qualification, learners will gain an understanding of how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives, including how to adopt a person-centred approach and positive communication methods.
This course is suitable for those who wish to gain a better understanding of autism and those working in a variety of sectors including healthcare, social care, education and leisure.
As the course is completed online, the use of a computer or laptop is recommended, however all student have access to our campus libraries including our quiet study spaces and computer suites!
