Want to try your hand at plastering?

Whether you are passionate about DIY and looking for your next project, or wanting to see whether the plastering trade is for you as a career, this short course will provide you with an introduction to the craft.

You will have the chance to learn from professionals, who have a wealth of experience from working in the industry.

Start Date and Duration

The course will start on Tuesday 27th January 2026 and will take three weeks to complete. You will attend college on Tuesday evening, from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.

The course takes place at our STEM Centre, Technology Campus, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

Boarding a ceiling
‘Dot and dab’ boarding to walls
Jointing techniques
Application and finishing techniques

Assessment Methods

There is no formal assessment. The course aims to increase your knowledge and skills and the main emphasis is to come and enjoy!

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment and enthusiasm.

Course Cost

You may be eligible for funding if you have not previously completed similar funded training.

There are a number of fee options for this course including:
