This short course is specifically designed to support 16-18 year olds back into education. Combining a qualification in personal development, personal health and social education and a high level of support, this course will provide young people with new opportunities to engage in further education, training or employment in the future.

More information

The course has various start dates and runs for 8 weeks. You’ll attend 2 days a week.

During the course, students will:

  • Explore personal strengths and barriers and develop skills that can be transferable in education and the workplace
  • Increase social and personal skills
  • Develop and revisit maths and English skills

You will complete a progress workbook, which shows what you have achieved throughout the course, and you will also receive regular, informal reviews.

You don’t need any formal qualifications to join, just the willingness to make a positive change.

If school wasn’t the right fit or things didn’t go as planned, that’s okay. What matters now is your next step. We’re here to support you with guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to grow.

Once you have completed the course, you can progress onto our 28-week Re-connect programme, which includes GCSE Maths and English and runs 3 to 4 days per week. Alternatively, you could move on to a traineeship, enrol in a full-time Level 1 or 2 course with us, or step directly into employment.

To join Foundation Learning, you can contact your Career Connect Advisor, who will then refer you on to the course or alternatively, please contact Maxine on 0777 181 0900 or use the button below to send us an enquiry.
