Animal Management

T-Level Animal Management & Behaviour

Studying a T Level in Animal Care and Management will prepare you for an exciting career within the animal care and management sector.

Designed by employers, a T Level combines practical and theoretical learning experiences, with real-life industry experience. It also supports progression on to university, or into employment in the sector.

Start Date and Duration

The course will start in September and will take two years to complete.

This course will take place at our The STEM Centre, Technology Campus, Pocket Nook Street, St Helens, WA9 1TT.

Course Content

This technical T-Level qualification is made up of core components and occupational specialisms. This allows you the opportunity to delve deeper into your chosen subject and develop skills and practices centred around your interests and career ambitions.

During the course, all students are required to complete a minimum of 315 placement hours, gaining work experience with a variety of species within the animal care and management sector, at a range of organisations across the UK. Our placement officer will help support you in finding a work placement.

Occupational Specialisms:

These specialist components will enable you to further enhance your knowledge, and provide you with additional industry experience, to take you into your future career in animal care and management.

Assessment Methods

The course is assessed by an externally set written exam, an employer set project, and a synoptic assessment that covers the occupational specialism.

Entry Requirements

You should have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language, maths and science.

Course Cost

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2026), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.
