Self Disclosure for those with a Criminal Conviction, Bail Conditions as a result of a current investigation

St Helens College and Knowsley Community College are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people and vulnerable adults and expects everyone who uses its buildings and services to share this commitment.

PLEASE READ THESE NOTES BEFORE COMPLETING THE SELF-DECLARATION FORM

If you have indicated that you have a conviction or bail conditions currently in place pending investigation you MUST complete the Self-Declaration Form

If you have indicated that you are on the Sex Offenders Register, then you MUST complete the Self-Declaration Form for those on the Sex Offenders Register. This can be accessed by clicking/tapping here.

It is the policy of the College to ask all applicants who are enrolling at the College and have declared that they either have a conviction, bail conditions in place or are on the Sex Offenders Register to complete the relevant Self-Declaration Form.

Any failure to disclose convictions, bail conditions or that you are on the Sex Offenders Register could result in you being excluded from the College.

Any information that you provide will be treated as strictly confidential and shared only with your Personal Tutor (if appropriate). If we are asked to share this with any external agencies, we will inform you of the request and seek your permission to share the information.

Disclosure of a conviction, caution or bail conditions does not mean that you may not be enrolled at the College: a person’s suitability will be looked at as a whole in light of all the information available – a main consideration will be whether the offence is one which would make a person unsuitable to study in college environments which provide the opportunity for access to young people or vulnerable adults.

WHO WILL READ THE SELF-DECLARATION FORM?

The Self-Declaration Form will be passed to our Student Disclosures Team who may need to discuss the nature of the offence with you.

The Student Disclosures Team may also need to speak to your Youth Justice Officer or Probation Officer to clarify information so that a fully informed decision can be made..
