Digital and IT Skills (Level 2)

This course is ideal for learners who want to develop and extend their digital skills and build their knowledge and understanding of core areas of the digital sector.

During the course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge to effectively use software tools and techniques to create and work with a range of applications including databases, spreadsheets, presentations and word processing.

Learners will also gain an understanding of the importance of digital skills in the workplace and the characteristics valued by employers, as well as identify career progression goals and plan how they will develop their skills to meet these goals.

The course will help prepare learners for employment for different roles in the digital and creative industries, or job roles in wider industries where specific digital skills are required, such as business administration, customer service and finance.

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year and will take one day per week over 36 weeks to complete, dependant on your skills, progress and goals.

The course takes place at our Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP. The course can also be delivered at a variety of our other campus locations.

Students will be assessed through an online assessment at the end of the course. You will be supported by your tutor to prepare for the assessment.
No previous qualifications are necessary.

You may be eligible for funding depending on your personal circumstances and subject to a fee assessment during the enrolment process. For further details, visit our dedicated Adult Financial support page.

You can progress on to further accredited courses, depending on your goals. Alternatively, this course may help you progress into employment or within your current job role. Your tutor will discuss this with you at the end of your course.
