This course aims to offer an introduction to the basic principles of health and safety, including hazards and risks within the workplace.

The course is suitable for a wide range of learners, job roles and employment sectors.

This course has flexible start dates throughout the year and will take two days to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens WA10 1PP. The course can also be delivered at a variety of our other campus locations.

During this course, you will cover the following topics:

  • Understand the importance of health and safety in the workplace
  • Understand the need for risk assessment
  • Understand the requirements for health and safety in the workplace

Students will be assessed through completion of a workbook.

No previous qualifications are necessary to complete this course.

You may be eligible for funding depending on your personal circumstances and subject to a fee assessment during the enrolment process. For further details, visit our dedicated Adult Financial support page.

You can progress on to employment or further accredited courses, depending on your goals. Your tutor will discuss this with you at the end of your course.
