The Level 2 Certificate in Creative Craft (Floristry) is designed for learners who want to build on their existing floristry knowledge and develop more advanced practical techniques. This creative and hands-on course will help you grow your confidence while exploring the artistic and professional skills needed within the floristry industry.

Throughout the course, you will develop your understanding of floristry design, learn to use a range of materials, tools and equipment effectively, and create a variety of floral arrangements for different occasions. You will also explore how creative ideas are developed, presented and evaluated, while gaining an insight into enterprise and employment opportunities within the floristry sector.

Whether you are looking to progress your floristry skills for personal enjoyment, further study, or future employment, this qualification will provide a strong foundation for your next step in the creative industry.

The course has start dates in September and January, with both daytime and evening study options available.

Daytime Course
This course has the following start dates and takes 18 weeks to complete. You will attend college on Thursdays from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

  • 10th September 2026
  • 28th January 2027

Evening Course
This course starts on 8th September 2026 and takes one year to complete. You will attend college on Tuesdays from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.

This course takes place at our Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

Practical topics covered include:

  • How to condition flowers and foliage correctly
  • Buying flowers and sundries
  • Creating a wide range of floral designs, including wedding and funeral arrangements

Alongside this highly practical course, learners will also study theory, including botanical knowledge and floristry terminology.

Assessment is through practical and written assignments for each unit with one online multiple-choice test.

Learners should have completed a level one floristry qualification. A keen interest in floristry is essential.

The total cost of this course is £660. You may be eligible for funding depending on your personal circumstances and subject to a fee assessment during the enrolment process. For further details, please visit our financial support pages.

After successfully completing this qualification, you could choose to complete a top-up to achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Floristry.

You may also explore career opportunities such as working as a florist, floral designer, wedding planner, or even starting your own business.
