The course has start dates in September and February and will take 15 weeks to complete.
This course will take place at our Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA10 1PP.
This level 2 course will introduce learners to topics that will develop their academic writing, employability, and life skills. The programme will help learners advance their knowledge and skills as well as build new relationships, confidence and self-esteem.
You will have the opportunity to study units including:
No formal qualifications are required. However, learners will be expected to take a pre-entry literacy assessment. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis.
If you do not currently hold, or not currently working towards, GCSE (or equivalents) in both English and maths, you will be advised to complete these alongside your main programme of study.
The Level 2 Pre-Access Skills for Further Study has been designed to enable learners gain transferrable skills and knowledge in order to progress on to higher level qualifications, such as Access to HE Diplomas in a variety of subjects. During the course of your study, Access to HE Diploma course leaders will visit your classroom to discuss the variety of pathways offered at St Helens College.
