Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments

This exciting course is specifically designed to prepare you for a successful career as an employed and/or self-employed Beauty Therapist.

Based in our busy commercial salon, you will delve into the science behind beauty therapy treatments while providing a diverse range of treatments to paying clients from face and body electrical treatments to Swedish massage.

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete.

The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

During this course, you will cover the following units:

  • Health and safety in the salon
  • Client care and consultation
  • Body analysis
  • Skin analysis
  • Swedish massage therapy
  • Body electrical treatments
  • Facial electrical treatments
  • Electrical science
  • Mechanical massage
  • Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems

You will also have the opportunity to complete additional training workshops with Dermalogica, such as the Pro Power Peel training and Acne, Allergies, and Ageing workshop, which will provide you with deep knowledge and understanding of these various treatments and skin types.

In addition to Dermalogica, you will have the opportunity to work with the luxury brand, Eve Taylor. You will learn about their fantastic body range, including specific body oils and exfoliation products, to offer a tailored treatment to your client. Further training opportunities are also available with Eve Taylor.

We also have exciting guest speakers from the industry to offer support in recruitment and progression.

You will be assessed by practical observations carried out within a realistic working environment, portfolio evidence and external examinations.
You should have successfully achieved a level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification. You should also have GCSE English and Maths at grade C (grade 4) or above, or level 2 Functional Skills.

The course fee is £3,345.

If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn’t dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don’t start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,000 per year. There are also a number of payment options including an interest-free payment plan with a monthly direct debit payment.

Once you have successfully completed this course, you will have the opportunity to progress on to:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology
  • Level 3 Diploma in Makeup Artistry

Alternatively, you may wish to travel the world working on cruise ships, build your clientele in a local salon or spa, embrace the rewards of retail sales or even grow your own business.

Additional Information

As part of this programme you are required to wear a uniform. There is also a kit required to complete your assessments which can be purchased from a recommended supplier. You may be eligible for financial support to cover these costs.
