During the course you will work within a realistic working environment to develop a range of technical skills, enabling you to provide a variety of nail enhancement treatments using different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
This course will start in September and will take one year to complete. You will attend College three days per week.
The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, Water Street, St Helens, WA0 1PP.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care, gel and acrylic nail enhancements, e-filing and advanced nail art.
You will also have the chance to take part in competitions which will provide you with the opportunity to develop and showcase your skills at higher levels and gain experience in competition environments.

The course fee is £3,345.
You may be eligible for funding depending on your personal circumstances and subject to a fee assessment during the enrolment process.
If you are aged 19 or over, you could also choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover your course fees enabling you to study now, pay later. Loan eligibility isn’t dependent on income or employment status and there is no credit check. Loan repayments don’t start until you have finished your course and earn over £25,000 per year. This qualification will prepare you for employment as a nail technician. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a nail technician.

As part of this programme you are required to wear a uniform. There is also a kit required to complete your assessments which can be purchased from a recommended supplier. You may be eligible for financial support to cover these costs.
