Happiness and pride filled the campuses of St Helens College and Knowsley Community College as students of all ages celebrated their achievements in GCSE English and Maths – marking a major milestone in their educational journeys.

This year’s results highlight the impressive accomplishments of both young people who have flourished with the right support and adults who have returned to education with renewed determination.

Many students are now preparing for their exciting next step, whether that is further study, university, an apprenticeship, or employment.

Adult student, Ana is celebrating an outstanding grade 8 in GCSE Maths and a grade 7 in GCSE English.

The full-time mum of two, who is working towards becoming a qualified Teaching Assistant, said:

“The courses were fantastic and really flexible, which helped me to balance learning with family life. The tutors were amazing – always attentive, supportive, and ready to answer any questions. It was such a positive and welcoming environment.”

Reflecting on the day’s achievements, College Principal, Simon Pierce, said:

“What stands out most today is the courage and determination our students have demonstrated in pursuing their goals, often while balancing full-time study, work and family commitments.

Their success is a reflection of their hard work and the inclusive, nurturing environment we strive to create. It’s not just about grades – it’s about growth, confidence, and the belief that it’s never too late to learn. We’re excited to see where their journeys take them next.”

School leavers’ Enrolment begins from 21 August and adult enrolment from 27 August.
