Healthcare and STEM Skills Show highlights career opportunities in the sector

The College recently hosted its annual Healthcare and STEM Skills Show during National Careers Week, which brought together students, industry professionals, and a range of exhibitors to showcase exciting career opportunities within the sector.

Held at the College’s Knowsley Main Campus, College students and pupils from The Prescot School, De La Salle, and Lord Derby Academy had the opportunity to take part in interactive sessions led by Medical Mavericks and Positively You, such as ultrasound and simulation keyhole surgery demonstrations, and motivational and resilience building workshops.

Organisations in attendance included NHS Trust healthcare science departments; cardio-respiratory, microbiology, pathology and reconstructive prosthetics from Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Daisy First Aid, University of Central Lancashire, University of Chester, University of Liverpool, Knowsley Council’s Environmental Sustainability Team, LFC Foundation’s STEM Team and our very own University Centre St Helens and Health and Social Care, Animal Management, Science, Sport, Early Years, and Engineering departments.

We recently welcomed Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, to officially unveil our new £1m Centre for Precision Engineering at the STEM Centre, Technology Campus.
