Our Public Services, Hair and Beauty, Catering and Travel students have taken their two-week residential experience to the next level, jetting off to Bali for the trip of a lifetime. During their visit, students explored the island’s rich culture, breathtaking landscapes and vibrant creative traditions.

The trip featured a busy and varied programme, including project work with Think Pacific, an award‑winning volunteering and internships organisation. Students visited Five Arts Studio to take part in a traditional Batik painting workshop, travelled to Tenganan Village for an educational site visit, experienced honey tasting, and learned about the culture and traditions of one of Bali’s ancient villages.

Jen McGill, Head of School for Services for People, said:

“Taking our St Helens and Knowsley College students to Bali was a truly transformative experience for everyone involved. The country’s stunning beauty and rich culture allowed us to take part in a wide range of activities, some of which pushed students beyond their comfort zones. Throughout the trip, their resilience, determination and teamwork were evident, and many lasting bonds were formed along the way.”

This experience showed that age, background and personal challenges are no barrier when you share a common spirit and outlook with those around you. Memories were created that will stay with our students for a lifetime.”

We asked students to sum up their Bali journey in just three words, and it was clear that the experience was both inspiring and unforgettable. Watch the video below to see highlights from the trip.
